Drobo beyondRAID storage array
Everyone seems to need more Storage with digital media taking over our lives it’s not uncommon to see home users with Terabytes of storage spread across external drives and storage systems. In the sea of NAS and DAS boxes on the market today you dont very often get to say here’s something really cool and new.
A company called Data Robotics have launched a device called DROBO which has offerings for medium to small business and the SOHO market. This device works like a RAID server that you would find in any typical enterprise but has simplified the whole process but has seriously simplified the whole management and expansion process.

The really cool feature about Drobo is unlike conventional RAID/NAS boxes you dont need to purchase all of your required storage upfront.
You can add and change disks in the Drobo as you require additional storage without downtime or data loss. Another big plus for the Drobo system is that your disks do not have to be of the same size as you would need in a traditional RAID array. It can also be configured to survive multiple disk failures without too much of an overhead on your total storage capcity. Drobo uses BeyondRAID storage technology™ to do this.
