Linux is a free open-source Unix-based operating system that now powers millions of websites, systems and servers across the world. The major benefit with Linux is that you do not have to purchase software licences to use it as you do with Microsoft systems. Linux is now seen as a major altternative to Microsoft and has now gained major endorsements by companies such as IBM, HP, DELL and Oracle.

  • Linux can run Enterprise Grade open source email, groupware and database solutions such as Open Xchange, OpenGroupware and MySQL.
  • Linux servers power a large proportion of the Internet and are ideally suited to power websites, online applications and content management systems.
  • Versions of Lotus Notes and Oracle have been released to run specifically on Linux servers.
  • Linux is an ideal platform to run multiple Legacy systems in a Virtualised environment.
